Regarding focal length, I would not go any longer. 85mm is just right for headshots with pleasing proportions and still wide enough for full body shots with a huge amount of background separation. Yes, 105mm and 135mm can do that as well if you step away even further, but I think the compression is too much then.

And if talking 85mm, the new RF 85/1.2 is simply the best out there, so getting it ensures to silence any future nagging what-if voices in your head.
