EM5 mk3 thumbrest pad has detached - looking for suggestions

It popped right off - found it in my camera bag, thank goodness.

I've tried using a strong double-stick tape to put it back, but that didn't last long.  I tried for a few minutes to glue it back using Goop but that was a disaster, as I had no good way to press everything into place long enough for the adhesive to cure.

The pad actually doesn't really sit/fit well in the gap it popped out of - it feels like it's too big, which doesn't make any damned sense.

In any case: I'm trying to figure out what to do to get it back into place, or, failing that, what I can replace it with.  The camera is usable right now without that thingamabob in place, but it's a little less than comfortable.  Has anyone else already dealt with this and come up with a satisfactory solution?
