It is like this for a decade now. 20 to 30 years ago, almost every tourist had a camera. Now, it's a rare thing. The industry forgot to combine the net with the cameras, and now the net is more important than showing travel photos on family evenings. So, the young ones use their smartphones. Some even get quite good and the results are photographically presentable.

My local electronic market (the only one left) sells cameras only online now. They used to have shelves with entry level Canons. There is a small camera seller left, surviving with online business. Photo studios are still working doing resume shots, school classes and marriages.

But the mass market is gone here in Germany. I don't see any way to go back with our clunky equipment. Us hobbieists and the pros will continue, and this has to be a big enough niche for Canon, Fuji and Nikon.

Drones, by the way, are dead too, probably due to the legal issues.
