I returned the lens and ordered an EF 28mm f/2.8 IS USM lens instead. I felt like I needed a middle ground between my EF 50mm f/1.8 and the 22 or 24 pancake and I really like the idea of having image stabilization in a prime lens. I got it on KEH in (like new minus) condition so it should be pretty new looking. I already have the adapter that I use with my beloved EF-S 10-18mm IS STM lens and I almost never get a blurry shot from that. Can't wait to play around with 28mm as it will be almost a nifty fifty on a crop sensor.

The other option is the EF-M 28mm Macro lens (if it’s not too late). It’s VERY compact, and highly versatile.

Marco Nero always has some fine samples…

Sorry, I went with the EF lens because I feel a bit uncomfortable investing in EF-M glass right now where we don’t know how much longer that mount will last. By choosing an EF lens, I know I can adapt it to basically anything and to be honest I kinda like how the focus system doesn’t protrude outside the lens.

No No, don't apologize at all. The 28 is a nice "little" lens. The stabilization should help a lot, and the AF is fast enough to shoot sports if you wanted to.

Plus as you say, you can use it on any camera you desire. Good job.

And happy shooting!

thank you!
