Good afternoon folks, I am a baseball writer and frequent podcast guest but I recently decided I wanted to capture better photos for my stories than I can get with my cellphone. I borrowed a friendly neighbor’s old Nikon and found myself falling in love with the hobby. So of course I invested in what I believe to be a very nice starting camera (Canon R7). I love the pictures I have been taking but I want to be able to zoom on every player on the field from behind home plate. Yes, I move around, but I don’t want to miss a shot because I’m on the wrong place when something good happens. Is there a specific lens that you wonderful folks could land me on that isn’t prohibitively expensive? The camera came with an 18-150 and it does well but I want to be able to get up close and personal with the outfielders and infielders on the other side of the field. Any advice is truly appreciated. I was hoping to spend less than $3K
