RP - to send for repairs or no?

In short, I sweated all over my camera on a strenuous hike. I’m still covered by Canon CarePak. RP started acting wonky.

First, it would take an exposure at power up, then allow no further control. Could not review the exposure.

Then, it would power up normally, but no button control. Could change modes using the dial. I could focus. I could use the wheels. But no menu, no moving focus, no changing focus mode, etc. So I when back to focus recompose and could use it.

It’s starting to get more normal again. I assume as it dries out. Menu, image review, etc all comes back for a while until the menu gets grayed out again and I’m back to the above.

I could not transfer images using EOS Utility. But all data was intact and I was able to use a card reader to transfer.

Is it going to be normal again, or send it in anyway for a checkup since we paid for extended coverage?  Anyone have anything come back worse after repair than when they sent it in?
