what type of bolt is in an arca swiss clamp

its a long shot but I'm hoping there is an engineering photographer out there!
Trying to replace a bolt in an arca swiss clamp. In fact I want to modify a bunch to have a longer knob.

not the tripod attachement, but the bit that screws to close the clamp.

It's not standard 1/4 inch - none of my 1/4 inch bolts fit (I'm guessing they're UNC thread). Its not 6mm standard or 0.75 pitch thread.  However its OD is ~5.9mm which means its probably 6mm with an odd thread.
its TPI is about 26. Meaning it really should be a standard m6.
can anyone help?

standard on the left, mystery bolt on the right
