Old vs New Pentax cameras
1

If I didn't acquire the K-01 camera (thanks Doug!) I wouldn't even come across any such thoughts, because this is my second "high end" Pentax camera . Now I can understand why the K-5 cameras have been so popular. Well K-01 is basically K-5 without OVF. The image quality is excellent despite lower pixel count than of the K-S1 and KP, which are my other Pentax bodies. I am speculating whether this is not due to the AA filter. And it might be. Even 24Mp (cropped sensor) should be equipped with such a filter, as even medium quality lenses can deliver more than 12 Md (mega details). For those extra details, which a sensor without AA filter can capture, you pay a hefty price in a form of a lot of false details, which can make your pictures look "busy". And this is a difference between K-5/K-01 and later cameras.
