BenQ SW240 with Macbook Pro M1: Which color space and profile?

I am wondering what settings to make both in my BenQ SW240 monitor and in the Macbook's display prefs to use the monitor as external display for editing pictures.

Once I had the monitor connected to the Mac it was properly recognized and assigned a color profile named "BenQ SW240". I noticed that if I use this profile I need to set the monitor's color space to sRGB to get the colors right.

But there's another option. I can assign the color profile "Display P3" to the BenQ and set its color space to P3 as well.

Which do you think is the better option? I can't see any difference.

And do you think it's worth calibrating the BenQ with a colorimeter? I am no pro and only occasionally send pictures to the lab for printing. Would I be ok with just using the photography preset with D65 for the internal display and then adjusting the BenQ's white point and brightness so that it matches the Mac?
