2022 Arizona/Utah Trip
19

To counter-balance the gear-focus a bit I thought I'd share a few snaps from a trip to some Parks in the Western US. All taken with the A7C, mostly with the 15mm and 50mm Voigtlander lenses. Exif should be intact in case you want more details.

First stop Death Valley. Hot and stormy, did the Artists Palette and Zabriskie Point, nothing you haven't seen pictured before. Good thing we filled up before arriving at Furnace Creek.

Valley of Fire SP is always amazing, but can be a bit warm in Summer. Good stepping point between California and Utah, unless Las Vegas is more to your liking.

It is a fairly dark area besides LV lighting up one direction. Unfortunately there was a full moon, but waiting for it to float below the horizon made the Milky Way stand out. Some inconsiderate neighbors had their security floodlights on all night, lighting up the rocks.

Our next stop was the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Campground is situated next to the abyss, providing for easy access to watch sunsets. Living in CA we don't get much in terms of clouds all Spring, Summer and Fall so it was nice to see the daily monsoon build-up.

Stunning views galore along Cape Royal road, showing how the area used to be all flat at one point, and then erosion carved out the deep canyon.

Heading towards Utah there are plenty of breathtaking places, this time we dispersed in the Valley of Gods. 4x Pano, should have kept going as there is more stuff to the right.

Next stop was Arches NP. Been there a number of times but always find new stuff to explore, like the Partition Arch.

Arches can get pretty warm in summer too, fortunately we brought our air-conditioned tent to survive the early afternoon blast.
