Are internal picture profiles inherently inferior to RAW if you want perfect skin tones?

Are perfect, natural skin tones possible with just the internal picture profiles of your camera? If so, which camera brand is best for it?

I don't see why the 8-bit of the Jpegs would be limiting to the skin tones. I see Jpegs with perfect skin tones, all the time. If you convert a RAW file to Jpeg, it doesn't suddenly become visibly worse. There might be more banding, but that's it.
