Melting glaciers, North Cascades

I did a quick trip to photograph some volcanic peaks in western Washington. It was quite warm at the higher elevations, and worrisome reminder of climate change and its tragic consequences.  But the band plays on, people dance, and we take pictures anyway. Oh, and have you heard, the pandemic is over.

Mt. Baker, the backside of what we see from our house (about 80 miles away), here close up

Opposite view of a north Cascade mountain, ice and snow rapidly melting.

A belly shot and focus stacking of Mt. heather (Phyllodoce empetriformis).
