A few garden birds

We had the privilege of hosting a wren nest in our little roosting pouch, which has been up for several years and used on and off for roosting, but never before for breeding.

Despite the poor contrast conditions (shooting through double glazing at an oblique angle) the K5iiS+Sigma 135-400 along with the help of Silkypix managed to tease out some detail of the young as they started to poke their beaks out.

With telephoto and the close focus, depth of field was minimal and despite a lot of shots of the parents I think only this one nailed the focus and froze any movement fully.

Same day, a bunch of starlings decided to investigate our little fountain

Thanks for looking,
