Problem with generating action and stop in Adobe Photoshop

I hope this is the right forum to ask for help with Photoshop...

So far I accomplish the following task by sequentially pressing the buttons. In order to simplify my workflow, I want to generate an action (within this action I want a stop, so that I can adjust a slider from 0% to 100% and also to toggle between preview on/off). I know how to record an action and also that it is possible to insert a stop, but I am not able to generate an action that does the following:

#1.: Image/Auto Tone

#2.: Edit/Undo Auto Tone

#3.: Edit/Fade Auto Tone

=> Here I want to insert a stop to ask for user input. So that I can adjust how much Auto Tone I want (from 0% to 100%) and I also want to toggle preview on/off, so that I can compare the effect to the native image.

#4.: Finally I want to apply the choosen settings to the image

Does someone know, whether and how such an action can be accomplished in Adobe Photoshop?

Thanks, Wolfgang
