When would it make sense to get a RF 70-200 f4, if an RF 100-400 is already in the bag?

When would it make sense to get a RF 70-200 f4, if an RF 100-400 is already in the bag?

Hi all,

I have the Canon RF 100-400. If I’m looking into getting the RF 70-200 f4 L for portraits and weather-sealing. However, I noticed that there is significant overlap between the two lenses and could possibly get similar results in most situations.  Curious, would I notice a dramatic difference in image quality with the 70-200 f4? Curious to hear from individuals who may have both lenses.

I originally got the RF 100-400 as a lightweight Telephoto, but realize that the RF 70-200 f4 can serve as a lightweight Telephoto as well (albeit sacrificing reach).

The RF 70-200 f2.8 is enticing, but not sure if I need the f2.8 95% of the time, and therefore not sure if I need to spend an extra $1000+.

Curious to hear other’s thoughts or experiences.
