I'm looking for a way to automatically use the focus/control ring on the 18-150mm kit lens with the R7 as a control ring in AF Mode, and as a focus ring in MF Mode.
Originally I thought this would be the best way to use a combined focus/control ring but somehow it looks like there's no way to set it up like this
Does anyone have an idea if this is even possible?
Another way to use this single ring as both, control ring and focus ring would be a shutter half press separation, like generally using the ring as a focus ring, but when you half press the shutter, it turns to a control ring. But also this doesn't seem to work

This is my set up for the smaller lens (RF 50mm 1.8).
I use it for MF when the camera is in AF mode ... but the switch has to be set to focus.
I dont use MF often so the switch is set to control almost all of the time.
To use the control options go to Orange menu Page 3 Custom Dials ... set focus ring to any one of 18 options.
The control ring, albeit the slider is set to Control, wont do many contols (SS, Aperature, ISO, EC) unless the shutter button is half pressed.

Thank you Robbey!
Wouldn't it be just so nice and simple to control the lens control ring behaviour with the MF/AF Switch on the front side of the R7? Like for example when it's set to AF, the control ring sets the aperture, and on MF the control ring lets you manually focus? I just don't get why you have to fiddle around in the menu each time, when there's a button for AF/MF switch that could also take control of this.
