Paired with the R10 or R7 will make a nice travel kit.
A 15-80/2.8-4, Nikon essentially made one that was only a little thicker than their 16-85/3.5-5.6. This would give more range and a little more useful aperture at the wide end for somethings. Plus Fuji has a 16-80 F4 Sony has a 16-70 F4 (not that you or 10 other people could force me to even touch one of those junk lenses) - why not offer something just a little faster and a little more different.
If Canon was going to offer something like a 15-65, I would just want them to make a F2.8 lens - kinda of like what Tamron did, but with a more useful wide angle.
Best yet how about a 13-60/2.8-4 (21-96mm) - now that would be useful.
Yes, these are all great but I don't believe it will be anything more than a 11-22 that's going to be announced first in Sept/Oct and ship in Nov along with their new R mount vlog friendly camera.
If we see anything more than a 15 to x I'd be very surprised, we might not even see anything at all, hence I'm prepared for RF-S 18-150 for some time, if I find I'm swapping to much to the RF 16 2.8 I might add the 14-35, which is a bit more flexible once fitted anyway and covers a very nice 22-56, similar to Panasonic's 20-60 for L system but probably a far superior lens.
I can be hopeful. I don't care what the scene, situation, photography type, I'd never by the Canon R7/10 until they've got a better and native version of the EF-S15-85. There's no point. I don't see 18-xx or 18-1xx lens as being even remotely interesting. 29mm on the wide end is just plain dumb - especially since everyone else practically is starting at 24mm. Others can do what they want, but I'd even take lesser cameras with better lenses because I know my results will end up better.
