Clearing a thorium lens…which light source?

I have used the Ikea desk lamp for a couple years to treat yellowed lenses, both Pentax and  Minolta. The Minolta 28mm f2.5 has the yellowed element deep so it takes a longer time to see much change. Prof says a month or two. I am aware this has been discussed before… but one person mentioned using a UV source designed for hardening nail polish. These are available, and cheap, low power…3-5 watts…and supposedly producing light at 395-405nm.

I have a Minolta coming in…so I am curious whether some of you have used the nail polish lamp, if it works, and if it works, does it work any better or faster than the Ikea desk lamp.  Not going to put lens in direct sunlight as it is too hot and there’s too much dust, etc.

Thanks for input on a resurrected topic.
