Insufficient memory for compositing ORF (Olympus RAW) files

I have a Windows 10 PC (Dell XPS8930) with 16 GB RAM and a 2 TB primary SSD. I am doing focus stacking with OMWorkspace 2.02.

The problem is that I can get the program to focus stack JPEG files but not ORF (Olympus RAW) files. I get an error that says "failed to composite" or sometimes, "insufficient memory". OMWorkspace requires only 2 GB of RAM. Task Manager indicates only about 40% of total memory is being used. I have over 600 GB of disk free.

From what a few people have said in the M4/3 forum, their computers are less advanced than mine and they can successfully composite ORF files in this program.

I can do focus stacking in Photoshop with the ORF files.  I can stack the JPEGs in OMW.

I have rebooted, cleared caches, uninstalled/reinstalled the program.

Any suggestions?
