Re: Monochrome Treatment of the Monsoonal Clouds

Hello, Everyone,

One of the nice aspects of this forum is the members seem to engage in creative expression of their images. So I will give it a try. I thought last week's set of monsoonal clouds would look interesting in monochrome. After experimenting I decided to use the Silver Efex Pro version because it was the one that allowed the most manipulation.....especially the sky appearing almost black. Even though it has what appears to be a lot of "structure" that slider was not cranked up too high at all. I passed it by Vitée a few times for his opinion (much appreciated) and the "interim result" is displayed here. For me it was the most intriguing. Downsampled to 2500 pixels wide it should look interesting on larger monitors.

Bob.....

PS...I suppose comments are welcome..knowing this is "experimental." 😁

For me, need less local contrast to bring back some of the softness that clouds have. If this is 100% than something like 70%. And little bit more of the ground at the bottom.
