Thanks for that, John. Since picking up the Komodo, I've been trying to follow the suggestion on Red's website, which is to give as much light as necessary rather than as much as possible, because as you said, really overdoing ETTR can make grading skin tones more challenging and since lockdown ended here and being able to shoot outdoors more, you do run the very the real danger of clipping highlights with the constantly changing light. Just the same, I almost always end up lowering ISO in the RAW pane on the color page to bring exposure down prior to color correction (old habits die hard!). I've heard cinematographers say they try not to keep changing ISO on their REDs during a project because the change in texture (noise levels?) can be jarring.
