Issues with Vello Wireless Trigger and M6 Mk1

Hello all,

I recently picked up a used set of the Vello FreeWave Fusion Basic transmitter & receiver from B&H. I am having issues getting my M6 to recognize the trigger unit.

The transmitter & receiver work fine when they are not attached to my camera. Pressing the button on the transmitter will cause an external flash attached to the receiver to fire. Nothing happens however once the transmitter is mounted to my hotshoe.

Looking at the menu with the unit attached, I get the following message for flash firing: "Not available if external flash is turned off" (even when the trigger is clearly on). If I remove the transmitter, the options change so that I can toggle the internal flash on/off. Clearly my camera can tell something is attached, it is just unable to operate it.

The external flash works fine if directly mounted to the camera.

Anyone familiar with these know if my unit is defective? B&H's listing shows the system is compatible with the M6.

Thank you!
