I thought about you the other day, where is Sandy? My Lenovo PC (your suggestion years ago) still in use but unfit for Win 11. I see you are inundated with camera suggestions so I conclude with joie de vivre instead.

Unrelated to photos, but I have access to two computers that cannot be upgraded to Win 11, and one of them will rip CDs (books on tape) to MP3 flawlessly. The other one does not. I think it has to do with the connection between the optical drive and the computer main board.

My Win-11-capable computer (running Windows 10) fails to rip without glitches using its internal optical drive and an external USB optical drive I bought just because of this problem. So I tried two different optical drives and neither one allowed me to rip the same physical CD properly.

My Lenovo laptop cannot be upgraded to Win 11. It fails to rip properly using the same USB optical drive I just bought (it has no internal optical drive). Since I get the same performance from both drives on my Win-11-capable desktop computer, I assume there is nothing wrong with the USB optical drive I just bought.

My ex-wife's desktop rips flawlessly using its internal optical drive. It is not Win-11 compatible.

I tried the same physical CD in each of these. Something funny is going on here.

Bottom line is, don't get rid of your Win-10-only computer.

It's much too soon to upgrade to Win11, even if your computer can handle it. Never be an early adopter of a Microsoft upgrade.

And anyway, what are supposed to be the advantages of Win11 that would make upgrading worth while ?
