A slow motion experiment with 1000mm equiv lens

I have spent some time observing the dragonflies and bees at a nearby pond lately, and have taken lots of photos of them using an Olympus OM-1 camera and 150-400 Pro lens with a 1.25x internal convertor.  All with good results.

This last weekend, I decided to try the 240 fps 1080p feature in the same environment.  I used manual focus, manual exposure, and a monopod, with focus being the most challenging, due to the wind.  Here is the result when slowed down to 30 fps, 1/8 speed.

What surprised me the most when I looked through 30 minutes real time of clips was how much I missed of what was in the scene when shooting.  I was so focused on the subject insect that I didn't even notice the other insects.   I have gone out two more times to shoot more footage of different species and I am becoming more accurate in achieving focus in the wind, but perfecting that skill is going to take some work!

Overall, I am very happy with this result and my grand kids loved watching the insects in slow motion.
