Any results on the basic kit lens with the R10. Limited FL and slower than dslr kit lens is obvious, but I wonder if the IQ is better or at least more consistent than the kit lens supplied with M cameras. The 15-45mm M lens seems to have frequent issues with decentering flaws. I wonder if Canon has improved with the R kit lens.

I have been testing my newly delivered RF-S 18-45mm and finding it to have very good to excellent sharpness and contrast at all focal lengths and apertures right across the frame. It is markedly better than any of my three copies of the EF-M 15-45mm kit lens.

Buy it in a kit with the R10 for just a small extra cost over the body only.

Recommended.

I have the same feeling about my newly arrived RF-S 18-150mm that comes in the R7 kit. After detailed testing I concluded this zoom by some miracle is much better IQ and sharpness than the EF-M 18-150 predecessor despite them both sharing the same lens element diagram. Perhaps the quality of glass or the lens coatings used in the RF-S lenses is much better. I just know what I see in my test charts. My light weight, compact general purpose 18-150mm RF-S lens is a keeper!

Yes I also have the RF-S 18-150mm which is noticeably better than any of the several EF-M versions of the same lens design lens which I had over the years. I assume Canon has improved everything in the production chain from grinding the elements to assembly , coatings etcetera. The result is certainly convincing.
