R7 gives err70 with Godox TT685IIC

Hi,

So I've just got a new R7 and tried out my TT685IIC on it. I've found a reproducible problem in dark scenes - the flash fires on a half-press and then causes the camera to become mostly unresponsive until both camera and flash are restarted. Often an error 70 comes up if I try to full-press the shutter button, but not always.

I've tried changing the flash and camera settings to use (or not) the flash AF, and have tested most other relevant settings that I could find, but no success.

It seems pretty similar to this problem on the R6, with a related flash model: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/65884868 , which was ultimately fixed by a firmware update.

Questions: does anyone else have this error? Any suggestions for what else to try to fix it? And my flash firmware is v1.2; I can't find any update on the Godox website but would greatly appreciate a pointer if an update for the TT685IIC exists.

Update: The problem doesn't occur when the camera is set to MF. The issue is reproducible when I try use the flash in any picture mode on a very dark scene, with AF mode enabled.
