Great choice.. X-E3 is a fantastic little camera. Got mine for about $450 in mint shape. The little x8 flash came in the box, but I never had a use for it, don't think I even tested it, and so gave it away to my assistant.

I don't use any hand grips or thumb grips, but I did buy, and find useful a soft shutter release button.

Happy shooting

Without wishing to start a debate about this - I had a soft shutter on the X-E3 and over time it affected the sensitivity of the shutter button. While I'm sure many don't experience this problem, it's a known issue and something to be aware of.

Ohh, I hope it is not the case in this one. I did not know about that issue.

Is she going to use it with an add-on soft button? I would start with just the bare button as is

I will tell her not to get the button... she was ordering that with the 27mm. Does that ruin the button on the camera? Because I use the x-t20 with that add-on thing?

It's probably fine (and my X-E3 is still completely usable - just needs a slightly firmer approach to the shutter!) but I personally don't think there is sufficient benefit from using a soft shutter to justify the risk in the long term.
