I would suggest using a slower shutter speed on the stills of prop planes to get more prop blur. Your "keeper rate" will fall exponentially with the slower shutter speed, but you will get more of a sense of movement with the props and the planes.

Agreed with Karl_Guttag. We need to show motion in the propellers. Otherwise, it looks like planes are falling from the sky.

conventional photographic 'wisdom' >> conforming images all looking the same

but with rotary wing aircraft the rule is often broken and the helicopters don't appear to be falling
