What a beautiful spot, and worth the walk for sure. My only suggestion would be to possibly try changing your color balance a bit, as they certainly seem bluish/cyan (which is typical for heavy shade), and a bit of warming up might just help them pop, but again, quite lovely just as they are.

Thanks Derek, Post is an area I am still figuring out . One area i have not adjusted very often was temperature. An original concept in a book on landscape suggested setting WB to cloudy day not sun ball to give warmer images and recently I just set my WB back to sun on bluebird day. Something I might switch back to. Learning as I go so hope I have made them pop a bit more.

The 2nd attempt of the first image has much better color balance, but is still a bit dark for my taste.  The "Second version #2" is just about perfect as far as I'm concerned, with excellent color balance and just the right amount of pop.  Man, what difference that made!

One of the things I like about shooting in RAW is the ease of adjusting the color balance in POST, but for the most part, but when I have the time, I try to use a small gray card I carry with me and set the white balance in-camera when I change locations, which makes post processing even quicker and easier.  Yes, it takes a few moments to do this, but it's well worth the effort to learn how, and actually is not hard at all once you've done it a few times.  Here is the little gray card I use:

Pocket Gray Card

There are others available for half the price that will easily do the job, but I've found this one to be very accurate and durable, and just the right size.

And if you're in a hurry while shooting, you simply take a quick photo of the gray card and use that in post processing to set the WB for a group of photos shot under that same light (as long as you're NOT using AWB in camera)

In any case, I think you did an excellent job with you adjustments. Have fun : )
