”Worse,” however, is in the eye of the beholder. I like that I never accidentally bump the joystick. I have a comfortable space for my thumb.

And, as said before by one XE4 reviewer, “How many buttons do you really need to take a picture?”

they will remove that annoying nipple that sticks out in the wrong place on the non grip to free up room for the non dial to simplify and stream line and hmm might as well remove the shutter button as well and go all touch operation..

The only thing I’d change about all of Fujifilm cameras with a joystick, is that it’s too small. I don’t think they need to go as big as the other manufacturers, but somewhere in between would be nice.

After using the XE4, I now realize that I don’t like the inability to program the joystick on my XT3 to punch in zoom. I really prefer that to using the clickable rear dial.

As for the XE5, as long as it doesn’t get a flippy screen and has the new 40mp sensor, I’ll be happy. The rest of the interface be damned. I actually prefer it to be as Leica-like as possible.
