Seems that continued supply chain shortages are producing more upward pressure on pricing than inflation is at the moment.  Whether or not those supply chain shortages are real (due to legitimate labor and logistical delays) or artificial (manufacturers' JIT production habits) is debatable.  At the end of the literal road, increased gas prices means getting a lens or anything else from Asia to the EU or North America is more expensive.
