I find the M6II does a pretty fantastic all by itself. I process in Canon’s software and get fantastic images. Tack sharp. Especially with the EF-M 32 f/1.4 and our 18-150 has never disappointed either.

Agree, the M6ii is great! However I've used Canon's DPP for years (and still do to vet my images coming out of the camera). But DxO certainly extends the M6ii's capabilities over DPP by a very significant amount.

I have to add, all these DXO ads read, “The M6II is a crappy camera, but don’t worry! All your terrible images can be rescued by this great software! You must use DXO with this camera!”

What I write are not advertisements at all. It is reality born of shooting many tens of thousands of photos in tremendously varied situations.

DxO PL5 can IMO turn the M6ii into a pro-level camera shooting some of the toughest subjects around. Here is an example shooting indoor basketball for instance...

If it’s the software that makes the usable images, just get any camera and use DXO.

What we are saying is that DxO (Deep Prime Noise Reduction) simply makes previously unusable images, usable. To access it a person does need to shoot RAW, and the camera needs to be supported.

If this is all outside your current sphere, then it certainly won't help you at all and you can indeed save your money! I say more power to you!
