Is there an option to set the response to linear? I think it might have been Fuji that had a linear option which improved the focus by wire results.

Unfortunately, no such option in Panasonic.

Isn't the ability to change to linear (manual) focus based on the lens?

Or maybe only the GH5 II has it, and not the original GH5?

I know on the full-frame bodies (S1, S5, etc.,) linear manual focus is available on my 24-105 f/4, and I could have sworn it was available on the original GH5. too.

Maybe I am wrong again???

I am not aware of that neither.

But the transition focus works really well. I can control the speed of transition too. I have the feature on "My Menu" and can be called up very easily.
