The manual (pic you provided) for the Canon 200/2.8 does not clearly indicate the function for the ring (R. side).....and only people who used the lens would know it. THIS was the reason I asked. By the way just about all the legacy lenses (Nikon) have this sort of aperture adjusting ring.

OK, maybe I'm bit retro with all these manual optics, but the older Canon lenses were v. similar.

The lens you picture is not the lens you asked about.
