So, I'm not from the US and lenses where I live are too expensive(I'm talking like one sigma lens costing 5 monthly wages) and I need a good, open wide angle lens for M6 Mark II, I was thinking on the Sigma 16mm 1.4 as everyone recomends it, but now knowing how the M system is basically dead and I already have a Speedbooster, should I consider getting a prime EF or EF-S lens? I know they're probably gonna be more expensive than the Sigma, but I could use them in the future since there are lots of EF adapters and not many EF-M adapters when I do get a new camera. Any recomendations? Are my points valid or am I just tripping? My biggest worry is not being able to sell a R$3000 lens because no one actually owns an EF-M camera.

I think it's up for debate whether EF-M lenses will lose value faster than EF/EF-S. As for your question, I'm a little confused because you originally said Sigma lenses are too expensive, but then you said you were considering a Sigma lens. How wide and bright are you looking for? Zoom or prime? Manual or autofocus? The EF-M 11-22 is basically the same price as the Sigma 16mm F1.4, at least here in the US. There's also the Rokinon 12mm F2, which is significantly cheaper, if you don't mind a manual focus prime.
