I have the DJI RS3 Pro (combo) with the Nikon Z9 with the full SmallRig cage, Nikon 24-70/2,8 AF-S, FTZ II adapter. My observations:

  • You need to put the camera on the the Lower Quick-Release Plate (Extended)
  • Bluetooth doesn’t work to pair them together, therefore…

Thank you for your reply. I agree with most of your points, and I do have similar connectivity issues:

  • You need a slightly larger (30cm) flexible USB-C to USB-C cable, the 20 cm is just a bit to short.
  • Balancing is very easy, it takes a minute.
  • It’s a very heavy combo already.
  • Therefore you need the briefcase handle
  • I also mounted an cheap plastic Atomos Shinobi on the handle.
  • This combo with the Z9 works without problems. The problem I experience, it’s too heavy to handhold longer then a few moments. You can make short moves with it, but anything longer than, let’s say 5 minutes, is not going to be comfortable.

Therefore, I think I will not use it very often. I should have bought a tripod with fluid head instead, because I think that’s way more important.
Use a small lens with it, even better, use a light camera also

If someone has a brilliant suggestion for additional support, please post it here.
