lens foot rotation

I have a Canon 100-400mm II lens that is several years old. No matter how tight I try to tighten the lens foot to the collar, there is still a slight bit of rotation (wiggle). I ordered a Kirk Replacement Lens Foot, tightened it as much as possible, and the small amount of rotation is still present. Tight at first, but with only a little bit of torque, it has the same amount of wiggle.

I suspect that the play is in the collar indentations, probably slightly worn from use. Does anyone have a suggestion to securely tighten the lens foot to the lens collar short of a drop of permanent superglue?

Thanks,
