My M6 fires the shutter as soon as I press the shutter release (after I’ve half-pressed to acquire focus). It’s indeed a bit faster than yours to respond.

Have you tried resetting the camera to defaults?

Disabling all in-camera image processing?

Is the firmware up to date?

I just tested mine in a dark environment yesterday (trying to reproduce your issue) but it just kept soldiering on as usual.

Keep working the problem. Must be some way of getting your camera up to speed (with the rest of ours).

Best of luck!

Hi.

Thanks for responding!

If you measure in the video the time in the first shot from the moment I press the button until the photo is taken it is exactly 3 seconds.

But those early examples INCLUDE the autofocus time!  You have to account for that.

In fact, that's why I asked why you were pressing the shutter and lifting your finger right away.

If you want to minimize the AF delay, then half press the shutter, achieve focus, and then fully press the shutter.  Or use BBAF.

I have noticed that as I increase the iso, the response time of the camera also increases (in poor lighting conditions). The higher the iso, the higher the problem.

Yes, there's indeed an additional delay that you're seeing, that I don't get with my M6.

As was suggested earlier, start by disabling all of the image processing (all noise reduction, DLO, HTP, etc etc).  See what happens.

Because my M6 fires immediately upon shutter press, even in a darkened room.

When there is a bright light in the room, the camera responds satisfactorily.

That's good.

For M6 only 1 firmware update was released (ver 1.01). It looks like they don't support this camera anymore.

Always the first thing to check.

I will try the same shot with my 27mm to see if os is related with this issue.

What lens are you using for the tests?  Perhaps that has something to do with it.

If you truly want to minimize shutter delay and also speed up AF times, then seriously look at the M6 Mark II.  It's absolutely killer for shooting action.
