Prices like these....

LOL! 😂😅

X100V is no longer being produced. Same thing with X-Pro3. X-T3 which was a best selling model was recently discontinued.

I can surmise a few reasons:

  1. X100V has a complex assembly with OVF/EVF + ND filters + leaf shutter + two in one dial etc etc. It takes more time to manufacture and maybe it is not profitable. Fuji prefers to manufacture X-S10.
  2. X100V and X-Pro3 use an older firmware which Fuji does not want to maintain or sell, hopefully so that development team can focus on newer cameras
  3. Maybe older cameras have some part which fell under shortage constraints during recent international crisis. My guess is the LCD display.
  4. Who knows, maybe the staff that was skilled in assembling X100V fell ill due to COVID and took a long break
  5. Maybe the new lens cannot resolve well on 40Mp sensor, so Fuji does not want to manufacture it. Instead, they are working on new concept for X100 series from scratch.

Anyways, according to 3 year schedule, next X100 series may come out in 2023.

Just a good lesson here - since Fuji makes only limited and small batches of X100 series that get spread over thousands of stores in 50+ countries all over the world, always buy it when it first appears, even if you have to travel to another city. Buy it in person from a small camera store. Never get into those year long waiting lines at B&H.

Funny thing is, the X-E4 can't be found either. Or the Xpro-3 non dura edition. You an actually buy an X-E4 at scalper prices.

i just bought the X-E4 last month at B&H for $849. I simply waited a few weeks. Cameras are affected by lack of parts … if you want one, get on a list and you’ll get one. It is that simple.

I was simply commenting on the lack of this camera being in stock. I wasn't like complain gin because I couldn't get one.

You said it can’t be found and you have to pay scalper prices… it can be found at normal price. However, people preorder and wait. Once they are delivered, there is no surplus for stock. It is that simple.

If you are preordering and it takes a very long time to get to you and normally the camera is out of stock, then yes, if you want it now you need to pay scalper prices. It's like the Playstation 5.

What is a long time?

That's my point and what I meant. IF the camera is always out of stock everywhere that points to a supply problem.

Yes, certainly... like many items in the world.  Covid, supply chain, inflation, non-available parts.... where have you been for 2+ years?

If the camera was as available, the camera wouldn't be hauling price over MSRP.

That is simply a need it now price.

The X_E4 didn't come out that long ago. It think it's the shortage.

I don't buy Fuji isn't making the X100V by choice. How can they not want to when the camera is in demand.

Exactly… there is no conspiracy. It’s the same reason cars are hard to buy new.
