Congrats on the awesome camera! I prefer to use Spot AF for everything. It’s ultra fast and ultra accurate. If you want to have some fun, you can use Face Detect when you’re close to your subject. It’s a bit slower than Spot though.

Spot focus works for almost everything with the M6ii. It does not work on an Amtrak train with smooth surfaces approaching you at around 70 mph... for that I use 'zone' focus with zone roughly in the center of the frame most times, or the tracking focus (but that sometimes picks up nearby objects).

To tell the truth I’ve never shot one of those.  Thanks for posting what’s been working for you!
