Re: M6 Mark II for Photography Review

My first camera was the 1000D as a amature and hobbyist and after few years upgraded to the 70D. After 8 years of using its time to decommission the 70D and upgrade to Mirrorless!
Wanted to go for RP + 35mm + 85mm RF glass but due to budget constrain, end up with M6mk2 instead. Might upgrade to R6(my dream target) or RPmk2 IF there will be any in the future..
Coming from 70D to m6mk2, all i can say is its way better in everything vs 70D!!. Dynamic Range, ISO performance, focusing, everything is a huge upgrade for sure. My only gripe with it is the mediocre battery life (need to carry 3-4 for a full day shots!) and NO EVF! From a client or non-photographer view point, you do look "amatureish" shooting from the live view which I think is pretty much a stupid baseless point.
With that said, I've done paid weddings with just the m6mk2 + 22mm f2 + sigma 56mm f1.4 + 1 Godox TT350 flash(on camera) and some sporting events (some paid but mostly just for fun/hobby) borrowed my friends Sigma 70-200 for that. It's a highly capable body but its just sad that the M mount is D-E-A-D.
Either way for me, the image from camera + lens and compositions is only 50% of the story. With the quality and technology these days, the other 50% depends on your final edits! Give a pro with a lower end camera vs noob with the latest R3 + $5000 lens. Guess who will have the better final image
Big congrats on the new camera! Agree with you that it’s a big upgrade (I shot with a 70D for 5 years).
I’m hoping that we’ll see more M cameras, but at least we have the brilliant M6ii! Enjoy!

ps. Do as Larry recommends and get DxO PL5 if you haven’t already.
