Re: Subject tracking question

Hi all,
I’m having problems finding information that will help me change from subject tracking to animal eye tracking or people tracking without having to into the i menu. All the videos I can find do NOT show the animal or people eye tracking in the i menu so the explanations of how to switch between auto area subject tracking and animal or people eye detection don’t make sense to me.
As a disclaimer I’ve been a landscape photographer and flower photographer and have recently gotten into birds so I’m trying to figure this out.
The camera firmware I’m on is current, 1.40
I’ve set the subject tracking for my L-fn button on my lens. I’ve set the i menu for auto area focus. Pics attached.
What I can’t figure out is how to easily go from subject tracking for dogs running around to taking a portrait of the dog without going into the i menu. I’m sure I’m missing something.
I hope this makes sense and that someone can help me out. Thanks!
On my Z7II I have the Movie Record button (in Photo mode) set to Focus Mode/AF Area Mode ( Custom Setting Menu f2). By pressing the Movie Record button and dialing the front wheel, you can then switch between AF area modes, and Movie Record Button and Rear Dial lets you switch between AF-s, AF-c and Manual. To make switching quicker, in the Custom Setup Menu a7 you can limit the AF area modes.
