Yes and that's my issue, how much of the benefit do we get from that, without the stacked sensor. This thing is fast and I'm very pleased with how well it is performing at the moment.
Aren’t stacked sensors more about fast sensor readouts than autofocus speed?
With the new generation of Expeed processor + new autofocus algorithm, the upcoming XT5 should be able to show a much faster autofocus than previous XTs.
Very few Sonys and Canons are equiped with stacked sensors and they exhibit top-notch autofocus….
Hey just saw this on the site earlier today and thought you might be interested.

Interesting indeed.
I have a question though: why isn’t Fuji autofocus system much better than that of a R5 or R6 or A7IV for example, which dont have a stacked sensor at their core ??
So, the R6 was often called the best, even more accurate than Sony with their Eye AF. So watching the reviews I posted below, I would say it is much better than the R5 or R6 at that point. I haven’t seen any A7 IV comparisons, but I would suspect it is better than that, if the reviewers are telling the truth about it legitimately being as good as any on the market (That would mean it is A1 level and that’s beyond A7 level).
