Ted, for me, apart from the technical advantage, FOVEON is the clear and only benefit after the end of the film era. It is precisely his three-layer chip that renders so beautifully and realistically at the same time, reads and displays colors, and his image has a 3D dimension that is better than the previous film. Bayer is garbage - a lie, because it does not read colors, its image is flat - worse than the previous film, and its image is sparse - worse than the film (the film is in three layers 1:1:1). Bayer is a disaster and garbage for me and even its high ISO won't save it. The FOVEON chip needs to be properly processed, it is the only real benefit after the end of the film era .. unless "holography" comes in.

Ted, you could explain it if you leaned into it.

Okay, but what is the future of Foveon tech? Can Sigma even produce new foveon sensor cameras? From what I have read, they have tried to create a full frame foveon sensor and have failed so far to get one into preproduction. Bayer may be garbage but it is crushing the competition. Even within Sigma.
