Anyone shoot sports w Z9 using D body as back up?

Have a Z9 and shoot sports, mainly motorsports but occassionally faster ball (and puc) sports when the opportunity arises.

I have a Z6ii as a second body. In motorsports I use it for candid shots in the pits with a flash and 24-70 f2.8.

At the weekend I shot Rugby League, the State of origin for those in Australia.

Used the Z9 and a loaned Z 400 f2.8 TC.

The AF of the Z6ii with a Z70-200 f2.8 mounted just wasnt up to catching fast paced action on the try line.

The pro 'togs for the National Rugby League use Nikon D5's (ignore the Cannon in the picĀ  )

advantages as they see it (they shoot jpg)

-smaller image size (crop, quick edit and send during the game)

-fast AF

-very low noise @ ISO1000

-excellent lens options

-muscle memory from using pro D bodies

Does anyone on here use a D body as a second camera to the Z9 for shooting fast action. A second Z9 would be excellent but cost prohibitive.

I'm thinking when the Z 400 f2.8 TC arrives (ordered....waiting..), I may sell the 500 f5.6 pf and get a used D5 and 70-200 f2.8??

Thoughts??
