RX100 VI: Repair, DIY or Sell as-is?
1

My trusty RX100 M6 had the main board go out on it while traveling for an extended period.  Found a good repair shop that could only get their hands on the replacement part for a different generation.  They warned me that EVF would not work and I went ahead with it as no good photo stores in the area (lots of pro stuff, zero consumer) to buy something else.  Good repair job but now no EVF, and I use that feature a LOT.

Local repair place cannot handle the job.  I have a sense that Sony repair will be $450+.  I am pretty experienced at DIY electronic repairs but the correct part alone is $230 and there is no guarantee I could safely complete the job (IFixit guidance is weak on this).

Recognizing that a fair number of folks don't use the EVF much maybe I should just sell it with full disclosure.  Thoughts?

It's less than 2 years old (1 Year warranty).  Grrrrrrrr.
