Usefulness of the 16-35 GM vs 12-24 GM to compliment a 24-70 & 35-150

I currently have a very good version of the Sony 16-35/GM.

That being said, when I actually shoot wide - which is less and less often - I often like shooting super wide.

I have had my eyes on the 12-24/2.8 GM for a long time, it looks like an amazing piece of gear that goes super wide, but it has a huge price tag and is heavy.

So here is the meat of my question:

While I would rather shoot a wide scene with the 12-24, it is a specialist lens that would likely end up on my camera less often than a 16-35 - which brings me closer to normal. Have others struggled with this decision, and what has been the result?
