While I do like the Z50, in terms of the benefit over cost, I do not think the D5500/D5600 can be beat, especially used and paired with the trio of AF-P lenses (10-20, 18-55, 70-300 DX).

In fact, this is my travel set up.

Reasons:

  • Compact, light and durable. Can take a beating.
  • Battery lasts.
  • Great similar image quality against the equivalent (16-50z,50-250z).
  • Proven autofocus system that will do well in most general situations. (Multi-CAM 4800DX)
  • Instant-on, deep enough buffer for surprise situations.
  • more lenses
  • Cost

It's made for travel.
