How is 24-105L better than 28-135?

Today I bought a 5D Mark II + 28-135 for $400. I have seen some people say that the 24-105L is much better than the 28-135. Besides the obvious extra wide angle, the constant f4, the sharper edges, the better IS, and better build quality, how else is the 24-105 better, and is this a huge difference or relatively minor?

In particular, I am mainly interested in the actual image quality and how the photos turn out. How much better is the image quality? Is this a really noticeable thing, say something that you would see in the camera's LCD screen, or is this much more a matter of zooming in 100% on the computer and looking at small differences at the pixel level? Put another way, would one be able to tell which lens took the shot based on a 4x6 inch photo?

I've also seen some people say that the colors and contrast are better on the 24-105L. What does this mean in practice? How noticeable is this?

Are there any websites that show side-by-side photos of the exact same scene taken by the two lenses?

Basically, I'm trying to figure out if spending, say, $400 to get the 24-105L is worth it given already having the 28-135. Thanks!

Canon EOS 5D Mark II
