M6 mark ii - Autofocus issue with viltrox adapter
M6 mark ii - Autofocus issue with viltrox adapter
9 months ago
Hi guys, I have a problem with my Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 unable to focus with the viltox adapter! It was fine for like 1-2 months ago. Tried cleaning the connections but still unable to resolve the problem.
Tired on my friends 5Dmk2 and 90D and the focus works no issue. I tried his 24-35mm f2 sigma on my setup (m6mk2 + viltrox adapter) and the lens to wont focus!!! aperture works as usual.
Tried the canon 70-200mm f4, canon 50mm 1.8 STM and 50mm L 1.2 all have no issues and autofocus works fine. So im suspecting its a 3rd party lens issue with this 3rd party adapter.. i guess?
So now im eyeballing the sigma 50 1.4 art and 70-200mm 2.8(cheaper than canon LoL), possibly the Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 to but im afraid to make another purchase that is non CANONs since i dont know if my problem is the cheap viltorox adapter? or the body itself? Its hard for me to test out lenses and the original canon adapter since there's no camera stores, (closes is about 60KM)
Have any of yalls facing this problem with the viltrox adapter? will changing to the original canon adapter fix this problem?
Canon EOS M6 II
Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM
Canon EF 50mm F1.8 STM
Sigma 56mm F1.4 DC DN | C (X-mount)
